Biography

Lisseth Bayona is an associate attorney in the Los Angeles office of the Derek Smith Law Group. Her interest and commitment to worker rights have roots in her parents’ experience as undocumented workers in Los Angeles’ garment industry. She believes that dignity in the workplace is a right of all workers. It is not a convenience or privilege reserved for employees of a certain class, race, gender, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

A devoted employee advocate, Lisseth focuses on representing individual plaintiffs in cases involving wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. She is dedicated to standing up for employees’ rights and equity in the workplace.

Lisseth has spent her legal career working within all sides of the legal system. She has worked with judges in the US District Court of the Central District of California as well as within the US Attorney’s Office in the same district. Her knowledge of working in these positions help her understand the legal process from almost every angle. These skills help her better serve her clients and prepare them of what they can expect from the judges and the legal process.

In her free time, Lisseth enjoys urban vegetable gardening, traveling, and spending time at the beach.
