Biography

Employment Law Attorney Erica Shikunov graduated from Loyola University Chicago with degrees in Theatre and Political Science. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and an LLM in Trial Advocacy from Temple Beasley School of Law, graduating with Honors.

Prior to joining Derek Smith Law Group Erica worked at two regional defense firms, representing employers in Employment Law and Workers’ Compensation Litigation. She then moved to Plaintiff’s practice, starting and managing an Employment Law practice at a large regional Plaintiff’s firm.

Erica’s experience representing employers gives her inside knowledge as to how her opponent’s cases are litigated.  Erica enjoys trial work. If settlement is not an option in a case Erica relishes the opportunity to take a case to the mat.

Erica still puts her theatre major to use. She loves to sing and has performed stand-up comedy on occasion. She enjoys powerlifting and yoga and likes knowing she can pack a punch inside of the courtroom and out.

Erica is passionate about animal welfare. She has two rescued cats and a rescued pitbull.
