New York & New Jersey Employment Law attorney Rachel Allen brings a diverse skill set and extensive litigation experience to the Derek Smith Law Group. Rachel primarily concentrates on Employment Discrimination and Civil Rights cases. She is a zealous legal advocate and gives each of her clients the time, respect, and consideration that they deserve.
Rachel received her bachelor’s degree, a double major in Criminal Justice and English, from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She earned her Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law, where she was Vice President of the Evening Student Association and the Managing Editor/Co-Founder of the Commercial Litigation Law Journal.
Rachel has extensive experience representing clients in both commercial and civil litigations from inception through trial and even on appeal. In addition to representing individuals, Rachel has successfully litigated several class action lawsuits and managed global settlements on behalf of her clients.
Rachel is an advocate at heart, having built an entire career in helping people who are in need, yet cannot help themselves. She fights fiercely for people who believe they are the underdog. Not only does she want to help her clients succeed in the courtroom, but she helps them find their inner strength that helps them move on from their ordeal and land strongly on both feet.
Rachel was very involved in her Pro Bono work within the NY State Division of Human Rights and LawHelpNY.org.
In her free time, she is an avid skier and scuba diver.
