During a recent YouTube podcast appearance, Mr. Derulo falsely claimed the lawsuit had been dismissed in its entirety “in two states.” According to the court documents, litigation is ongoing in the New York State judicial system.
Previously, a preliminary filing in California was dismissed on a procedural technicality (a forum selection clause). The court did not rule on the merits of the case. The lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, illegal retaliation, and breach of contract is still pending in New York State Supreme Court with the corresponding case number: E2025022406
Our client, Emaza Dilan, has shown great courage in coming forward. A public campaign of misinformation compounds the distress she has endured.
