Biographical Info

Ian C. Schenholm is a dedicated attorney with years of experience in employment law, including direct representation of clients facing workplace injustice. He is passionate about advocating for individuals who have been wronged by their employers and focuses his practice on claims involving workplace discrimination, retaliation, and wage violations.

Ian earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, where he was a member of the school’s Criminal Defense Clinic, gaining early hands-on experience defending the rights of individuals in the justice system. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies from Hampshire College.

Before becoming a practicing attorney, Ian worked as a senior paralegal, building a strong foundation in litigation and client advocacy. Now, as an attorney, he continues that work with the Derek Smith Law Group, fighting to protect workers’ rights under Title VII, the ADA, FMLA, the Criminal History Record Information Act (CHRIA), and various wage and hour laws. Ian is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Ian brings a compassionate and strategic approach to each case, striving to achieve meaningful outcomes for his clients through zealous advocacy and focused negotiation. He believes that no employee should be silenced or retaliated against for standing up for themselves in the workplace.

Outside of the courtroom, Ian is an avid live music enthusiast and an accomplished drummer. Before beginning his legal career, he played in a rock band that toured extensively throughout New England.
