Dalen J. Hutchison is a driven, goal-oriented attorney in the Miami office of Derek Smith Law Group, where he represents plaintiffs in employment matters such as discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. He has experience both pursuing and defending claims in state and federal courts on behalf of individuals and corporate entities across a wide range of commercial matters involving contract disputes, fraud, and related business torts. Mr. Hutchison’s background in business enhances his analytical depth in complex litigation, allowing him to anticipate potential strategies.
Having earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University, Mr. Hutchison went on to attend Florida International University College of Law on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. He focused his legal studies on business and employment law, earning three CALI Book Awards while serving as a Teaching Assistant in Sports Law, President of FIU’s Sports & Entertainment Law Society, Vice President of FIU Law’s Negotiation and Mediation Team, and a Law Student Ambassador.
Outside the office, Mr. Hutchison is passionate about capital markets and macroeconomics, utilizing his finance background to conduct quantitative analysis and trade equity derivatives. Mr. Hutchison also enjoys watching and playing sports, as well as keeping up with NIL and other sports law developments.
