Andres Jalon, Esquire grew up in Philadelphia. A native of Ecuador, South America, he is fluent in Spanish. Andres attended local Philadelphia schools and he graduated from George Washington High School and Holy Family University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology, in 1994.

In 1995, Andres attended Rutgers University, in Camden, New Jersey. While in Law School, Andres excelled academically and was nominated to become a Phi Delta Phi, National Legal Honor Society. As a student, Andres received the Sandstrom Scholarship, the Rutgers Alumni Scholarship, the Richter Scholarship and the Philadelphia Hispanic Bar Association Scholarship. Andres also competed in the National Latino Moot Court competition in Los Angeles, California. As an intern, he worked at the Camden County Solicitor’s Office, the Philadelphia Defender’s Association and the Police-Barrio Project of Philadelphia. Andres graduated from Rutgers Law School, in 1998. At graduation, he was awarded the “Pro-Bono” Publico award for service to the community.

Andres began his legal career as an attorney for the prestigious Philadelphia Defender’s Association, a highly selective criminal defense organization. In September of 2000, Andres entered the private sector joining the AV-rated and the prestigious law firm of Gerald Stein, P.C. Four years later, Andres became a partner at the law firm and it was re-named Stein and Jalon, P.C. In 2008, Andres was the founding partner and managing partner of his law firm, Jalon & Associates. Jalon & Associates represented clients in civil matters, commercial litigation, and serious criminal cases. In August of 2017, Andres Jalon, Esquire became an attorney with the prestigious Derek Smith Law Group.

Andres Jalon is an experienced and accomplished trial attorney. In his career, he has tried over 100 jury trials, thousands of non-jury trials have represented clients in thousands of pre-trial conferences and depositions.

In 2013, Andres represented the Plaintiff, Mr. Noe Castillo Ramos in, Noe Castillo Ramos vs. Astra Foods, a civil lawsuit. The result: his client was awarded over $763,000.00 for his workplace injury. The verdict was recorded by the Legal Intelligencer as one of the “Top Pennsylvania Verdicts of 2013.”

Andres has represented clients in Camden County, Salem County, Cape May County and Bergen County, New Jersey. He has practiced in Philadelphia, Berks County, Bucks County, Carbon County, Chester County, Dauphin County, Lackawanna County, Montgomery County, as well as, the United States District Court, in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court, in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He is currently admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

In his capacity as General Counsel local for businesses, Andres has negotiated contracts with various Hollywood film organizations and has negotiated, initiated, defended and successfully litigated various cases involving the commercial law.

Andres has been a guest speaker on the television program “It’s your call with Lynne Doyle”, WDAS radio station, the MEGA radio station, KYW News Radio and has lectured or appeared as a guest speaker for civil rights law, criminal law, immigration law and discrimination law. Andres has provided training to numerous Philadelphia community organizations and local unions. In 2014, Andres coached Father Judge High School’s trial advocacy team.

Andres Jalon, Esquire is active as an attorney in both the legal and Philadelphia Community. He’s served on the board of directors of local organizations: The Philadelphia Bar Association, Criminal Justice Division; The Police-Barrio Relations Project of Philadelphia; The Community Academy School of Philadelphia; The Star Players of Philadelphia and Daddy University, a Father’s Rights Organization.

Andres earned black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Moo Duk Kwon, and Hap Ki Do and has trained in Judo and ground-fighting/defense.

Andres resides in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, with his wife, his four sons and his black Labrador Retriever. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time in Maryland, sailing (the Chesapeake Bay) and training in the martial arts. Currently, Andres is authoring a book on Father’s Rights
